FORT MYERS WOMAN'S COMMUNITY CLUB ANNOUNCES
ANNUAL HOLIDAY HOUSE - "A SEASON OF JOY"
The Fort Myers Woman's Community Club announced the theme, "A Season of Joy" today for Holiday House 2009. Holiday House is a Southwest Florida tradition that has taken place for over 30 years. Club members and volunteers will decorate and embellish the beautiful homes, lawns and grounds with lavish displays exquisitely decorated in gold and silver. "We look forward to Holiday House every year and consider it to be our gift to the community," says FMWCC President, Sandee Foster. Holiday House Chair, Cheri Karkalits agrees adding, "I truly enjoy being a part of an event so steeped in tradition".
Holiday House 2009 will open to guests on November 28th, and run through December 23, 2009. Opening night coincides with the downtown festival Holiday Stroll; a parade led by the Mayor in a horse drawn carriage. Everyone is invited to stroll from Centennial Park down First Street, as the street lights come on one by one as the parade progresses. The stroll stops at the Sidney and Berne Davis Art Center where the main Christmas Tree is lit and the stroll continues and culminates at the Holiday House homes. The hours for Holiday House are nightly 5 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, children 12 and under are free.
The downtown parking garages will be open and free of charge. Also, a free trolley service will be running from each parking garage and will transport visitors to and from these beautiful homes.
Holiday House has something for everyone. In addition to walking through these two festively decorated homes and grounds, children can visit Santa each evening at the Langford-Kingston Home. Also, variety of local music and dance groups will provide entertainment each evening.
